The First Post

This blog is here to chronicle the adventures of two young men as they ride their bicycles from Vancouver, BC (Canada!) to Santa Cruz, CA (US!).  The young men in question are Jas Condley and Kevin Nelson, two recent graduates from UC Santa Cruz’s Baskin School of Engineering.

The trip begins in about a week.  The next post will probably include things like our packing list and pictures of the preparation process.  We’re going to be carrying solar cells, an EEEpc and an iPhone, so we hope to update frequently. The rest of the blog will include things like daily musings, video posts, pictures, and Google Latitude tracking of our progress.

Special thanks to Andrew W. Hill, who will be driving us up to Vancouver.  Now it’s time to pack…
